leadership barbecue

Last Friday we met for our annual Leadership Barbecue at the ranch. We ate hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon and ice cream and listened to our speaker, Marc Wheeler highlight some of the cowboy values in his life experiences. Unfortunately, we took no photos, but everyone seemed to have a great time!

We finally finished grooming all of open horse trails running through Bell Mountain Ranch and left ourselves one last day to complete a summer leadership project. Jerry bought paint and roller brushes and put Ella in charge of leading the team to paint the railroad tunnel covering the horse trail entrance to Bell Mountain Ranch. While much of the paint ended up on the youth staff, they still managed to transfer most of it to the concrete, leaving the tunnel much more attractive than it was to begin with!

We also weed-whacked the trail leading from the ranch to the railroad tunnel and groomed the bridge that was painted by last year’s Ranch Hand Leadership team.
